The opportunity
Inuka is working with a renewable energy developer to recruit a Project Developer based in Nairobi. This role will lead the development of utility-scale projects, managing technical, commercial, regulatory, and stakeholder activities through the full project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead project development from origination to financial close.
- Manage permitting, land acquisition, and grid connection activities.
- Coordinate technical, legal, environmental, and commercial workstreams.
- Build relationships with government, utilities, landowners, and partners.
- Support project budgeting, risk management, and transaction readiness.
- Drive projects through key development milestones.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of renewable energy project development experience.
- Track record developing utility-scale projects.
- Strong understanding of permitting, grid connection, and stakeholder management.
- Commercially minded with excellent project management skills.
- Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
